Choir & Café

SoundCafe Leicester uses music and singing to enable and empower our guests to find their voice.

We provide Café refreshments prior to the Choir rehearsal, and it provides an opportunity for them to get together and socialise.
The Choir and Café run each Monday from 1pm-3pm at St Mary de Castro Church, Castle View, Leicester.

  • We are looking for volunteers to provide:
  • a warm welcome;
  • a listening ear in a supportive environment
  • support our guests to fully engage in the choir;
  • help with the provision of refreshments which are provided prior to the choir rehearsal.
  • Volunteers will also be involved in the setting up and tidying up of the refreshment provision.

Each volunteer will be provided with SoundCafe Leicester Choir tee-shirt and name badge.

An interest in singing would be an advantage, though not essential.
Prior experience supporting vulnerable adults is desirable but not essential.

SoundCafe Football Health & Well-Being

SoundCafe Leicester Football Health & Well-Being sessions are run in conjunction with Leicester City in the Community for adults 18+.

Our sessions are run to enable our guests to improve their fitness, feel better about themselves and make new friends. All players who attend three sessions are provided with a full training kit and boots and also become part of our football team SoundCafe Foxes.

Lunch and refreshments are provided after the session to promote good nutrition and self-esteem and reduce isolation.

Players have had the opportunity to visit the LCFC Seagrave Training ground and other trips are planned in the future following our successful Homeless and Well-Being tournament.

  • We are looking for volunteers who:
  • have an interest in football and well-being
  • can support our guests either on the sidelines or actively playing football
  • are engaging and able to motivate and encourage others
  • who can make the sessions fun for our guests

No experience as a player is required although an interest in football would be an advantage.
