Do you want to make a difference?
SoundCafe Leicester NEEDS YOU!
SoundCafe Leicester provides a safe creative space for adults who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, vulnerable, or socially isolated. We ‘gather together’ as a weekly drop-in café each Wednesday afternoon and provide a number of artistic activities, notably singing, playing musical instruments, poetry and arts and crafts, inspiring our guests to explore, grow and express their artistic talents.
We also have a choir which performs regularly at Leicester Cathedral and other venues, and we are developing a football team supported by a Leicester City Football Club coach.
A key aim of SoundCafe is to provide a safe place for our guests in which they can express themselves, develop new relationships, self-esteem and skills and be treated with care and respect.
SoundCafe has developed over the last five years and has grown both in size and success. The Trustee Board is looking to recruit new Trustees and Associates, in particular with expertise in:
- Fundraising/Media and Communications
- Human Resources
What is involved?
- attending six board meetings per year
- 6-8 hours per month.
