Yvette was an amazing volunteer and over the last year also an Associate of SoundCafe, supporting the Trustee Board.
She was quietly determined, quick to identify a problem with a guest and being there as a listening ear or gently guiding and supporting.
Yvette had a real passion for her volunteering and support to those who were vulnerable but extended this to everyone she met. She had a real heart for those affected by homelessness demonstrated in her work and volunteering with both SoundCafe and OneRoof.
She was a keen choir member but had many more hidden talents, truly remarkable.
She faced her battle with cancer with the same determination grace and dignity that we saw each day. She was brave and selfless throughout, still there supporting others and indeed was at the SoundCafe Takeaway only in December. She had incredible courage, compassion and an ability to truly listen and ensure others were heard.
Our over riding memory of Yvette is her smile, which lit up her face and extended a warm welcome to all.
